Strudel Hugó

1073 Budapest Kertész u. 22

top sights

We wanted to open a strudel shop where you can smell freshly baked strudels the moment you walk in. Where the atmosphere is great and, besides traditional recepies, you can enjoy new varieties you won’t find anywhere else in town. We wanted a strudel shop where the product is home-made and prepared before your very eyes. Where cottage cheese is real cottage cheese, where coffee is delicious and you can get other things, too, like fresh bread or a sandwich.

For starters, strudel means strudel and Strudel Hugo sounds like a character from a great adventure. Also, this building was home to Hugo Scheiber a popular painter from early in the 20th century. He was said to be a keen foodie and if he were alive, I’m sure he would be our regular guest!
