The figure is expected to stay until the end of January at Madame Tussauds Budapest Christmas came early for Hungarian Dua Lipa fans – Madame Tussauds Budapest has announced that the wax figure of the British-Albanian singer is moving to Dorottya street for a few weeks. The music superstar actively participated in creating the figure, her biological data was recorded for hours to ensure the most lifelike result possible. In the Budapest production, the singer can be seen in an extravagant satin dress worn in 2018. „If I wasn’t a singer, I would be a fairy princess,” Dua Lipa once said. The star is not yet 30 years old, but has already had a fairytale career. The English-born Albanian Lipa moved back to London from Kosovo alone at 15 to make her dream of becoming a performer come true. Today, three Grammy Awards, tens of millions of fans and four Madame Tussauds figures prove her global star status. Dua Lipa is one of the most valuable brands in the world. Madame Tussauds Budapest brought the world star to Hungarian fans just in time for the holiday season. The figure arrived from sister attraction Madame Tussauds Amsterdam and will remain in Dorottya street for only a few weeks. Dua Lipa personally played a serious part in the creation of the wax figure, as she participated in a process called “sitting”. During this, Madame Tussauds experts used the most modern technology to record her biological data, starting from the distance between her eyes to her height, from her skin tone to her eye colour. Dua Lipa posed for hours in the studio, then it took another four months for the wax figure to take its final shape. The singer personally unveiled this particular wax figure of hers in Amsterdam. The artist is a big fan of discreet tattoos, she has 18 works of art on her body, some of which are visible on the figure. For example, the inscription Patience on her left hand. This small tattoo reminds the artist to always stay calm and try to be patient. Also clearly visible on the figure’s fingers are the tattoos designed by world-famous graffiti artist Keith Haring. Dua Lipa’s tattoos all remind the singer of the journey she has taken so far. Her tattoos feature her family and even the Sunny Hill festival, which she organizes with her father in Kosovo, and the name of the annual event is inspired by a neighbourhood in Pristina. The figure of the singer, who is also referred to as a fashion icon, wears a satin dress designed by Alessandra Rich. The loose, bold dress was seen by millions of viewers at the 2018 Billboard Awards. Dua Lipa has performed at Sziget twice, and this summer she visited Hungary in complete secrecy when the music video for her song Falling Forever was recorded. Unfortunately, her 2025 world tour will not include Budapest, but Madame Tussauds Budapest has a special gift for fans: the figure is expected to stay until the end of January.
