Enjoy Cultural Heritage Days this weekend

Every 3rd weekend of September we celebrate Cultural Heritage Days in Hungary, which is part of a European Union initiative – European Heritage Days. The event promotes the history and cultural monuments in more than 50 countries in Europe.

In Budapest, there are various venues and programmes including museum visits, events, walks and guided tours you can participate during this weekend. You can visit and learn about the magnificent places and their characteristics such as the Hungarian National Archive,  The Ybl Creative House in Buda, Újpest City Hall and Fuveszkert Botanical Garden of ELTE among others.

In addition, you can check out Budapest100, a civil urban festival that opens up many magnificent historical buildings of Budapest. The event is open for everyone and as it is the festival’s 10th anniversary programmes are free of charge. Note that some programmes, guided tours require registration.

Visitors are requested to follow Covid19 protocols such as wearing a mask and keeping the social distance during their visit to each venue.
