HUNGARIAN SHEPHERD AND HUNTING DOGS

Hungarian dog breeds (Komondor, Kuvasz, Puli, Pumi, Mudi, Hungarian Vizsla, Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla, Transylvanian Hound, Hungarian Agár) are the result of several centuries of breeding activity carried out by people in Hungary, and they form part of the landscape in the country.

The aim of breeding organisations is to achieve a stock in Hungary consisting of healthy and pure individuals free from hereditary diseases that are born through supervised, regulated breeding.

During breeding, priority is given to preserving the animals’ value in use and genetic diversity, as well as maintaining both their traditional skills and the ones meeting the requirements of the 21st century.
