Madame Tussauds Budapest celebrates its first birthday with Dwayne Johnson. From now on, the Hollywood star awaits visitors in Palazzo Dorottya. The Rock itself participated in the creation of the imposing figure, which will be on display in Budapest for a few months. Madame Tussauds Budapest opened its doors exactly one year ago in the downtown Palazzo Dorottya. The production introduces visitors to the sparkling world of celebrities with 52 figures, including 17 Hungarian-related wax figures. During the celebration, the figure of one of today’s strongest and most versatile Hollywood stars was unveiled at Madame Tussauds Budapest. Dwayne Johnson is an actor, professional wrestler, bodybuilding icon, American Football League owner, businessman and producer who is followed by many people worldwide – nearly 400 million fans are interested in his stories on Instagram alone. Dwayne Johnson is one of the most popular figures at Madame Tussauds, fans can meet his figure for instance, in London, New York, Las Vegas, Dubai, Amsterdam and Berlin, among other cities. The attraction is understandable: everyone would like to take a selfie with The Rock. The half-Samoan world star himself actively participated in the creation of the figure – in 2019, he modelled for the Madame Tussauds wax artists. Thousands of shots were taken of the Rock, and based on the data, the professionals spent several months creating a lookalike of Dwayne Johnson posing on the red carpet, with which the subject himself was very satisfied. Dwayne Johnson has met „himself” several times, and even the clothes of the figure were chosen by the actor. The figure that arrived from Dubai is in a copy of the powder blue suit in which Dwayne Johnson appeared at the New York premiere of the movie Skyscraper. Dwayne Johnson has already visited Budapest, and even called the city his home for 174 days. The actor stayed with us for the filming of Herkules, during which the crew mainly worked at Páty and Rákospalota, with 500 Hungarian extras. Fun fact: another star of Madame Tussauds Budapest, top model Barbara Palvin, also plays a minor role in the film. Dwayne Johnson visited a gym in Buda almost every day during his stay here. Later, he also spoke a few sentences in Hungarian: he sent a campaign video for the student director election of a high school in Miskolc. The list of surprises continues: Madame Tussauds Budapest will soon announce the arrival of new stars, and the list of celebrities will soon be expanded to 54 with the addition of two permanent figures. 1/2 ×
