There is a new resident in Madame Tussauds Budapest: from now, visitors can meet Zendaya in the palace of Dorottya Street. The young star watches Brad Pitt, Madonna, Leonardo DiCaprio and other celebrities while sitting in the VIP room which evokes the atmosphere of Gellért Baths. Zendaya was seated on a bench created and decorated by the Zsolnay brand. Zendaya Coleman is only 27 years old and is one of Hollywood’s biggest icons. As a child, she broke into showbiz with the Disney show, “Shake It Up!”. Later, she received a Golden Globe Award for her performance in the HBO series, Euphoria, and became the youngest person ever to be honoured with an Emmy Award. Even TIME Magazine named the singer/actress one of the 100 most influential people. Most recently, tens of millions of viewers watched Zendaya in the first and second parts of Dune, and Challengers. Zendaya’s partner is the well-known actor Tom Holland, for years now. Zendaya knows Budapest well because most of the Dune film series was filmed in Hungary. The star spent a few months with us: she and his partner, Tom Holland, toured the quay on an electric scooter but also appeared in a downtown pizzeria. Now the celebrity is coming back as a stylish wax figure. The figure from Amsterdam shows a replica of the dress in which Zendaya, who sparked a clothing revolution, shone at the 71st Emmy Gala in 2019 in Los Angeles. Zendaya was seated in a special room with Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr., Madonna, Ryan Gosling and Leonardo DiCaprio. The VIP party room evokes the atmosphere of the Gellért Baths – dozens of craftsmen and professionals worked on the decoration, for instance, it was an important aspect that Zsolnay porcelain forms should please the eye, as they do in the baths. The American actress is seated on a bench decorated with unique ceramic inlays by the world-famous Zsolnay manufactory. The other „Hungaricum” of the room is the beautiful human-sized mermaid Zsolnay, who can be seen on the opposite bench and will hopefully “see eye to eye” with Zendaya. This work of art also came from the Zsolnay factory in Pécs to Madame Tussauds Budapest. Both Zendaya and the mermaid welcome those who want to take a selfie. Visitors can constantly find new things in the magical spaces of Madame Tussauds Budapest, they can see Ariana Grande’s figure with a brand new installation in the Cinema Café. 1/3 ×
