The Biodóm opened as an oasis in the capital

After many years of anticipation, the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden’s Biodome has finally opened its doors, welcoming visitors with a new concept: an “urban oasis.” This unique experience space has been open to the public since July 2 and, in addition to the traditional zoo experience, offers relaxation with exotic plants, spectacular installations, dinosaurs, and special programs.

In the nearly 1.7-hectare indoor space, a tropical atmosphere welcomes guests year-round. The biodome’s unique microclimate is enhanced by lush vegetation, humid air, and an impressive 12-meter-high artificial waterfall, which is one of the building’s most spectacular features.

As they stroll through the biodome, visitors can encounter exotic plants and a variety of animals, while life-size dinosaurs evoke the world of prehistoric times. According to the zoo, the offerings are constantly expanding: in the future, the extremely popular shark feedings and seal shows may also move here, for which the Biodome’s spacious interior provides an ideal venue.

The Biodome operates as a standalone attraction within the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden, making it a natural extension of a visit to the zoo.

The goal was to create a unique experiential space that offers relaxation, nature-based experiences, and educational programs for all age groups.

The Biodome welcomes guests according to the zoo’s visiting hours; for information on admission options and current ticket types, please check the zoo’s website.
