Budapest was voted the second-best cruise destination

Budapest has received another tourism award! The cruisecritic.com magazine, which specialises in cruises, presented Budapest with the Cruisers’s Choice Destination award, based on tourist reports. In the European riverside cities category, second place was taken by the Hungarian capital – as cruisecritic.com informed the Budapest Festival and Tourism Centre (BFTK).

As the Hungarian capital’s official tourism and festival organising company, the BFTK (in close cooperation with its partners) has been working for a long time – even in the field of cruises – so that as many people get to know the unique beauty and lively cultural life of Budapest as possible, and that as many of those people visit us as possible, of course. The result of this work is clearly visible: the number of the capital’s visitors is increasing year by year.

According to the tourists, Budapest is popular because the city is “astonishingly beautiful”, the city tours are very informative and provide an unforgettable experience, and the city lights of Budapest at night are compelling and memorable.

The first place of the cruise destination award was won by Arles in Southern France, and after Budapest, the third place was taken by Germany’s Wurzburg.

This year’s awards were divided into 18 categories by renowned cruise media, which correspond to particular world regions.
