Festivals in May

Budapest, May, festivals. Who could ask for more? If you’d like to let off some steam at a festival, you will have many colorful options to choose from. As usual, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy culture, new flavours and many other forms of relaxation, as well.

OTP GOURMET FESTIVAL / 16-19 May, MILLENÁRIS 

This event celebrates Hungarian chefs, and several Hungarian restaurants will offer a taste of their menu. Culinary stars will also attend, such as the world-famous Austrian chef, Konstantin Filippou, the Michelin star owner Lee Jong-kuk from Seoul, and Twins Garden Moscow from the Russian capital. Gourmet Festival features paprika, bread heel and beer this year. 

BEER WEEK IN BUDAPEST / 20-26 May, DÜRER KERT 

Budapest Beer Week will guide visitors through the world of artisan beers of Hungary. Following professional meetings, underground concerts and days of unlimited tasting, official after-parties await beer lovers. 

BUDAPEST FOLK FEST / 22-25 May, VARIOUS LOCATIONS 

Between 22 and 25 May, you can get first-hand experience with Hungarian folk music and folk dance, world music and urban folk at various culturally emblematic locations around the city. 

JEWISH ART DAYS / 25 May – 2 June, VARIOUS LOCATIONS 

Visitors to Jewish Art Days can experience colourful Jewish heritage: prestigious artists, unique performances and several surprises await enthusiasts of Jewish culture.
