The history of the swimming pools go back to the ancient Roman times. The water of the nearby thermal springs was used already in the time of Emperor Claudius.  The Császár bath was opened in 1806, the building got ready in the second half of the XIX. century. It was unbuilt in 1989-90, and was rebuilt in 1997. In the meantime, in 1976 the Komjádi swimming pool got to be operational in the neighbourhood of Császár. It is named after Béla Komjádi, the coach of the Olympic champion Hungarian water polo team of the Games in 1932. The specialty of the Komjádi swimming pool is that its roofing can be opened. It is the home pool of the multiple times Hungarian champion and Hungarian cup winner water polo team, Vasas. On its tribune 1800 fans can be accommodated. In average 100 events are held in the stadium each year.
