The generally quiet and peaceful Kopaszi Bay will fill with life and colour on 21 June. On this day, several hundred people will test their aquatic abilities in what has now become a traditional swim across the bay. For an unparalleled experience, the competition can be observed from an altitude of 120 metres on our viewing terrace. It is a good idea to purchase tickets in advance for the MOL Campus SkyDeck observation terrace on this hopefully beautiful sunny Saturday as this is a spectacle that is likely to generate a lot of interest – the sporting event to kick-off the summer takes place right at the foot of the tower in the bay section of the Danube. What will this look like from a bird’s eye view? Around every hour from 9 am to 12:30 pm, competitors swimming for 500, 1,500, 3,000 and 4,500 metres will set off on their way, so the water will be filled with bright swimming caps and arms and legs churning up the water for almost the entire day. It promises to be the kind of sight most of us are only likely to see as drone footage. Everything is much more exciting live, of course, and don’t forget about the urban panorama extending out beneath our feet to go along with it. Before/after the race If you have already signed up for the bay swimming, it is worth also registering for a visit to the tower regardless of your start time to see your fellow sportsmen and women from on high. Finally, whether you are a participant or spectator dedicating 21 June to the Kopaszi Bay, the Fresh Corner café or the terrace of the Zazie Bistro & Bar operating on the ground floor of the MOL Campus are great places to recharge your batteries as they offer perfect views of events on the water and on the shoreline.
