Week of Senses – Recharge your batteries in Budapest: discover the city through your senses!

From February 16 to 22, programs that engage multiple senses will help you relax and slow down

A week when the city captivates you with different scents, flavors, sounds, textures, and sights. During the Week of Senses – Recharge Week, from February 16 to 22, you can take part in an extraordinary adventure in Budapest, where programs based on the five senses will help you escape from everyday life, inspire you, and truly recharge your batteries. This themed week offers special experiences, events combining art and gastronomy, and exclusive wellness opportunities that invite you to slow down and gather new inspiration. Here’s what you shouldn’t miss!

A journey through time tuned to multiple senses

From February 17 to 22, Time Machine Budapest is joining the Week of Senses – Recharge with a special experience program. During this immersive historical adventure, you can take part in a real sensory journey through time: the exhibition, based on sound and visuals, brings Budapest’s past to life through personal stories. After the guided tour, you can write down your thoughts on paper and place them in a shared time capsule, which forms a symbolic bridge between the past, present, and future. The experience is rounded off with retro cake tasting, so that the flavors also take you back to another era.

Exciting sauna sessions and couples’ massages in iconic buildings

In the historic building of the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, a variety of sauna programs help you escape the monotony of everyday life. In the Phoenix Sauna, you can take part in special sauna sessions three times a day between February 16 and 20. The sessions are led by qualified sauna masters: they enhance the sensation of heat with essential oils, music, and spectacular fanning techniques, while offering true rejuvenation for body and soul.

On February 20, you can unwind in the impressive spaces of the Parisian Courtyard. The stunning surroundings alone will fill you with a sense of calm, and this experience is complemented by Adrienne Feller’s rose oil back, neck, and shoulder massage, which will help you relax and slow down. Come with your loved one for a couples massage, then finish off the program with an elegant afternoon tea under the crystal dome, where delicious drinks and tasty snacks await you.

Beauty and health consciousness come together at the LipBar by Toman studio. Professional colorists will help you create a personalized lipstick that suits you, and during the Week of Senses – Recharge, mini Face Yoga courses are also available daily from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Under the guidance of an expert instructor, you can learn the basic techniques that will help you maintain the freshness and elasticity of your face.

Culinary delights, spiced with art

A special combination of gastronomy and architecture awaits you in the collaboration between Gundel and Liget. From February 16 to 20, you can sample iconic Hungarian dishes at Gundel Restaurant, from goulash soup to Somlói galuska, then take a guided tour to discover the unique building of the Hungarian House of Music and gain insight into the cultural world of the institution.

On February 19, gastronomy and contemporary art come together at Time Out Market Budapest for the Art&Sip program. The works of Apollo Gallery’s current exhibiting artist will be on display in the Market The Vault room, adding a visual experience to the dinner. For the evening, the Spirit Bar will be serving a limited-edition cocktail inspired by the artist’s style.

On February 22, the Al Habtoor Palace will host a festive brunch experience between 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. In addition to classic favorites, the menu will also feature flavors from the Middle East, while the iconic cakes of the Art of Cakes, created by master pastry chef István Mázás, will continue to be the highlight of the afternoon. Live music will set the mood, making the occasion even more special.

On February 17, pianist Gábor Eckhardt will give a music history lecture at Klebelsberg Castle, accompanied by a screening and live musical illustrations: the program will take you to New York and give you a glimpse behind the scenes of the world’s most famous opera houses and philharmonic orchestras. On February 20, you can enjoy the atmosphere of old coffee houses with hits and film music at Piano Friday in the castle’s Zsolnay Café, while sipping champagne, wine, cocktails, or tea.
