More than just a fashion week – the 17th Budapest Central European Fashion Week is here

The 17th Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) has kicked off, placing Budapest at the center of the Central European fashion industry with accompanying programs throughout the capital until February 15, followed by fashion shows at iconic venues in the second half of the week.

Organized by Creative Hungary, this year’s Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) once again has an international focus, yet offers a distinctly Budapest experience. In addition to Hungary, designers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Armenia, Romania, and Ukraine will be presenting their work: more than forty Hungarian and international designers will showcase their fall/winter 2026–2027 collections.

Fashion Week is not just about the catwalks. More than fifty accompanying programs taking place at various locations throughout the city—studio visits, workshops, and professional discussions—bring fashion closer to the general public. Visitors can gain insight into creative processes and issues of conscious consumption, while Creative Hungary’s long-term goals also come into focus: supporting domestic designers, strengthening the international visibility of regional brands, and building sustainable professional and market relationships in Central Europe.

A dialogue between generations in iconic spaces

The featured presentations will take place between February 13 and 15 at two venues in dialogue with each other. On Friday, the Apollo Gallery will host a show-in for designers at the beginning of their careers, where the contemporary art environment provides an ideal setting for the new generation to introduce themselves. The visual world is enhanced by József Gaál’s monumental works, adapted to the colors of the season, as a spatial encounter between fashion and fine art.

On Saturday and Sunday, the presentations will continue in the iconic spaces of the Museum of Fine Arts. Here, the focus will be on the collections of mature, market-proven Hungarian and international brands, emphasizing the vision of BCEFW: a fashion industry mindset that is based on tradition yet oriented toward the future.

Familiar faces and international connections

In addition to models, stars and muses will also appear on the catwalk: Vanessa Csíki, Móni Balsai, Rebeka Kárpáti, Réka Tenki, and Janka Végvári will each participate in one show.

Every season, Creative Hungary invites international journalists and retailers, as well as leading figures from the Hungarian fashion industry: Ganna Smugilova, Myra Cseh, Nelli Tombor, Krisztina Bútor, Andrea Horváth, Edina Kátai-Pál, and László Hajas will also be present.

This year’s international focus is reinforced by the fact that Frenchman Kevin Jacotot is responsible for the professional hair concept.

Fashion Hub: an experience space and meeting point

On Saturday and Sunday, the Schickedanz Hall on the first floor of the Museum of Fine Arts will host the Fashion Hub, one of the most open community spaces of Fashion Week.

Presentations, creative workshops, and inspirational talks will examine the social and cultural role of fashion, while the curated design fair and showroom will offer concrete business connections.
