The magical world reopened at Palatinus with an evening light show

One of Budapest’s most popular winter attractions, Lumina Park, is opening its doors for the fourth time, enchanting visitors with light, music, and fairy tales once again this year. The light park, entitled Magic World, will be open from October 22 until March 1, 2026, at the Palatinus Baths, offering relaxation for young and old alike with a 90-minute walk through wonderful landscapes and fairy-tale worlds.

Lumina Park is not just a light installation, but an international network of theme parks operating in several countries—Poland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, and Hungary—with the Budapest location being the most popular and spectacular since its inception.

The attraction, which is a collaboration between Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévizei Zrt. and the Polish company Lumina sp. z o. o., returns with a new theme every year and has become one of the capital’s must-see winter events.

More than 150 light installations shine among the steaming pools and huge trees of Palatinus, brought to life by approximately 10 kilometers of wiring and millions of environmentally friendly light sources. This year’s theme takes visitors to the border between imagination and fairy tales: they can enter the realm of Frozen, the jungle of Tarzan, and the forest of Pocahontas, then marvel at the splendor of Versailles, reimagined in lights.

The route has surprises in store for all ages – a light maze, interactive musical installations, and even a „flying” helicopter, while atmospheric music in the background completes the experience.

Visitors can also encounter light-animated versions of works by famous Impressionist painters—Van Gogh, Monet, Degas, Matisse—where fantasy and reality create a unique blend. One of this year’s most unique creations is the Tree of Life, a symbol of the eternal cycle.

The Lumina group’s own modern light composition is located on the huge Japanese pagoda tree in Palatinus Park, making it the central feature of the Magic World.

Lumina Park is not only a spectacular evening program, but also a kind of refuge from the gray of winter—a place where light, music, and nature come together to create a festive atmosphere. In recent years, it has attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors and has grown into a true community experience, offering a special treat for families, friends, and couples alike.

The park is open every day from dusk until 9 p.m., and during special periods, it is open until 10 p.m.
